Johnny had significant hits during his six decades in the music business. Johnny had his first number one hit with IWALK THE LINE in 1956. Over the next six decades he kept surprising the world with more. In the sixties his hits were RING OF FIRE and FOLSOM PRISON BLUES. In the seventies, he had more hits withs ONE PIECE AT A TIME and GHOST RIDERS IN THE SKY. He was in the super group, Highwaymen from 1985 to 1995, and released the hit the HIGHWAYMEN in 1985. Then, in the nineties he won grammies for the release of the American Records that contained THE MAN COMES AROUND, and his final released in 2002 was HURT.
These two men were great friends and roommates in the 60s. When Waylon was in the hospital in his 50s, Johnny Cash came to visit. During that visit, Johnny was also admitted in the room next door for heart problems. The two men talked on the phone and played pranks on each other until they were both released, and they remained extremely close until they died. This show opens with Waylon Jennings performing some of his biggest hits such as Luckenbach Texas, Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys and Duke's of Hazard. In the second half, Johnny Cash performs his part of his musical story as listed above.
